Fong-Wei-Do/MMA

Fong Wei Do essentially means "The Art of Self-Defense". It is a modern eclectic, blended, multicultural, combative martial art.

The Fong Wei Do practitioner will learn various martial art techniques and concepts in the 5 ranges of martial arts; ranges being, from furthest to closest; weapons, kicking, punching, trapping, and grappling.

Fong Wei Do is a blend of many different combative martial arts Chief Instructor Webb has studied. Boxing, Thai-boxing, Kickboxing, Kali-Silat, Shootfighting, Russian Sambo, Hapkido, Wrestling, Jun Fan (Gung Fu), Kung-Fu and Military martial arts.

The ultimate goal of the Fong Wei Do practitioner is to be able to flow in combat, from one range to another.

Kickboxing / Muay Thai

Kickboxing is shared at the T.M.A.C., and is enjoyed primarily by the ladies. It is a great cardiovascular workout, employing the kicking and punching techniques of kickboxing.

Muay Thai, "The Science of Eight Limbs", is shared at the T.M.A.C.  Muay Thai is a devastating martial art method, employing punching, elbowing, kicking, kneeing and clinching techniques. Muay Thai is a very physically tough martial art, requiring the participant to attain a very high level of physical fitness.

Boxing

Boxing, "The Gentlemans’ Sport", Is shared at the T.M.A.C. The approach taken is more for street defense applications, but plans are for joining Boxing Ontario. This will allow the students the opportunity to enjoy the sportsmanship of amateur boxing.



Pekiti-Tirsia Kali

"Pekiti-Tirsia roughly translates as "to cut into small pieces, up close." That describes the system’s strategy and tactics, which is to close in and cut the enemy down. Pekiti-Tirsia was officially founded in 1897 by Conrado Tortal. Pekiti-Tirsia was previously taught only within the Tortal family to defend themselves and their land. The system was brought to the U.S. in 1972 by Grand Tuhon Leo Tortal Gaje Jr., the grandson of Conrado Tortal and heir to the Pekiti- Tirsia system.Our Teacher Tuhon Mandala Philip Gelinas is the second highest ranking person in this system.





Russian Sambo/
Submission Grappling

Russian Sambo, "Self Defense Without Weapons", is shared at the T.M.A.C. Russian Sambo is a sport grappling method that employs a variety of locks, throws and sweeping techniques. This enables the practitioner to either outpoint or submit his opponent. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has now been added to the Grappling program.

Jun Fan (Gung-Fu)

Jun Fan (Si-Jo Bruce Lee’s Art) is an evolutionary martial art, employing techniques and concepts from various martial arts Si Jo had studied.

Combative Weapons

Combative Weapons is shared at the T.M.A.C. Combative Weapons is a blend of various realistic weapon training arts. The material is generally derived from Filipino, Chinese and Military martial arts. The practioner is shown offensive and defensive movements with various weapons of combat.
